We are a veteran-owned, local small business in Central Oregon delivering farm-to-table products like raw grass-fed milk, butter, ice cream, and cream to our members. Additionally, we make the best raw milk hard cheese in the region and are the only artisan cheese producer in Central Oregon. Our exceptional grass-fed beef & lamb and famous whey-fed pork, none of which require a herdshare membership to enjoy, are available throughout the year. We believe that the past is the key to our future
With a clear scientific link between ultra- processed foods and serious health issues, it’s time for us to get back to the basics and know where our food comes from and what it contains. Did you know that a gallon of pasteurized milk from the store can contain milk from hundreds to thousands of cows from multiple dairy farms?
Here at Windy Acres, we can show you the cows that produce our food. You can see the pastures that they graze on and how happy they are. Milk from grass-fed cows has higher levels of key nutrients, and is more environmentally-friendly, as we practice regenerative farming. We definitely aren’t a traditional dairy farm. We don’t feedlot our cows or pull their calves (unless required) within the first 3-4 months of birth. Additionally, we practice once-a-day (OAD) milking, which is common in New Zealand and Australia. It is easier on the cows (and us), and frees up more time to focus on farm tasks and making products.
